Beautiful grounds and a truly relaxing atmosphere. A romantic getaway spot
Service at breakfast was excruciatingly slow. We had to ask for the check 3 times before receiving it.

The accommodations and location are stunning.
The hotel is not yet ready for their reopening so they have not fully staffed as of yet. I look forward to CVR being back in top form.

Amazing food served, delicious breakfast. The rooms with fabulous views overlooking the surrounding mountains as well as the large outdoor patio. Quiet location, by nature. Also - not far from Carmel Valley Ranch for 4 days of tennis clinics for over 10 years and the restaurant, at the pool, at the River Ranch Cafe and the Sea: D

Stunning location - set in 500 acres, very peaceful and natural - loved the wildlife. Only a 20 minute drive to beautiful Carmel On Sea but with the benefit of the warmer and sunnier valley climate. !0 mins drive from the village of Carmel Valley which has some great restaurants and wine tasting opportunities. The service, facilities and rooms at Carmel Valley Ranch are of a high standard and the beds deserve a mention as they are just so comfortable. I can't wait for my next stay!

We ate at a SMALL restaurant for breakfast. The location was amazing and gorgeous, 10 min walk from bus station. The service offered was top-notch.

I liked the laid back atmosphere, deer right outside our balcony and the casual feel of the ranch. The spa was very pleasant and the staff was very accommodating. The rooms were comfortable although there were no extra pillows or throws to sit by the fire. Loved the fireplaces and the fact that they were on timers. The beds were comfortable and the suite was very spacious. Loved the wrap around balconies.
I think the service in the restaurant could be much better. Food takes way too long to come to the table. Also, powdered eggs? A pre made omelet? Not acceptable in a good hotel. The resort could use a few more restaurants as there is not much choice. Also, concierge could not even recommend one restaurant in Carmel Village for Sunday brunch. One other thing, cable television!!!! Should not have to come down to th lodge to pick up a dvd. Should be able to watch cable movies in the room. Breakfast should be available through room service. Continental breakfast was not sufficient.

I had a lovely time, especially enjoying the heated swimming pool and a relaxing massage at the spa. The whole place is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and stunning views of the vineyards. The décor felt a bit plain for my taste, but it didn’t take away from the experience. I recommend checking out the tasting room nearby for some local wines! 🍷

My kids wished the children's activities were closer to our room. A shuttle service can help, but they should consider adding more closer venues for families.
